A letter from 2013

Dear 2014,

I wish to express my congratulations on the raise, though I feel it will be difficult for you to fill my elf pointed shoes.
Let me regal you with my superior works.

It has been in my year that Miss Decadent Kane came to be. Her work in the erotic books are more than apart of what I encouraged in her. No she didn't expect me to thrust her into the publishing world, but as the year moved on and she wrote her elfin heart out, she found her series within my time.

Miss Kane also bought a house due to the beauty of my sun over the summer season, the handsome man I helped to keep her with, and the work I encouraged her to find within my year.

You could say my year has washed out many of the others with its shiny happiness.

I do wish you the best of luck though, 2014, as I fear you may need it.

Sincerly,
2013

Dear 2013,

So she had a book published, bought a house, kept her family, and found a new job. Pft. I already have a head start on you. Miss Kane has three publications coming out in my year and all in January and February, and that's so far.

I won't be the one filling your shoes old chap, but alas, I will be exceeding all expectations for I am the beacon of hope, I am what is to come, and I will soon be all that is left of you.

Sit back and relax as the last of your days flow by gracefully and be assured when my time comes to pass, Decadent Kane will find many happy surprises behind my days.

Yours,
2014
