Snippet Sunday #1

Let me introduce you to Ms. Ribbon Winters: She's a feisty young woman, likes moonlit dinners, and her men a little on the jagged side.

Snippet is from my book "Ribbon of Darkness"- The Trouble with Elves series. (Coming out in December)

After the ice melted, the burn subsided. Ribbon sulked her way into the bathroom, flipped on the light, and checked her alarm clock. She kept it in the bathroom in order to make herself get out of bed and have to walk somewhere in order to turn it off. Not that she couldn't be late  for work, since she worked in the family business, Ribbon just didn't prefer to slack in any area of her life. And lazy didn't mean the same thing, lazy meant curling up with a good book, which was definitely not slacking. She picked up the alarm, five in the morning, same as the last time. She blew a long strand of black hair from her face, glanced up, and dropped the clock.

Pointed, pointy, points...on her ears!

Next week meet Draven North...

  1. That is a terrible thing to see at 5 am! I'd drop the clock, too! Yikes! Plus she's already in a bad mood, sulking her way into the bathroom. Love that line. :)

  2. What a sight to wake up to and at five in the morning. Curling up with a good book isn't lazy, LOL, it's reading!

  3. I agree with her about laziness vs. reading---

But I'm not sure I'm awake enough at 5am to notice my ears! :)

  13. "Pointed, pointy, points...on her ears!" I love this! I get such a sense of her disbelief from it.

  15. Ummmm 5 AM?!?!!! You'd be lucky I could drag my sorry butt out of bed. "Pointed, pointy, points in her ears!" I would just assume it was a sleep-deprivation hallucination lol

Lazy - as far as curling up with a book? I would do that TILL 5 AM not get up at 5 AM!
